Other issues included programs consuming too many resources, plus a list of browser extensions and plug-ins that could be unnecessary. On my iMac, Speed Up Mac showed no fewer than 57 problems that could be affecting its speed, ranging from clogged-up RAM to too many start-up items. The Speed Up Mac function has General and Expert modes for those who feel more confident with macOS. The Speed Up Mac function shows you want is slowing your Mac down and gives you the option to sort. The third box shows any large files that are taking up serious amounts of space on the Mac’s drive. Even better, Onyx fixed the problems even though I had no idea of how to use it.

They couldn't help me, either so, having nowhere else to go, I tried Onyx, and not only did those two problems disappear, but also another one that I had resigned myself to. I had had a couple of problems that they couldn't help me with, so I called Apple Care.

Anyway, I used Onyx WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION, and it worked. I had assumed that Apple Support Communities would be against Onyx, because they are against everything that doesn't come from Apple, and they like to argue too much for my taste.
